Qualifications and Credits
With Learning through Work programmes you can gain an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification including:
- Certificate of Higher Education.
- Diploma of Higher Education/Foundation Degree.
- Honours Degree.
- Postgraduate Certificate.
- Postgraduate Diploma.
- Masters Degree.
The qualifications offered through Learning through Work go through the same quality assurance checks as any other university-level qualifications, and are recognised in the same way.
Your programme will be made up of modules and each module has a credit rating. The credits each module carries builds up to a particular qualification or award.
Minor Awards: Certificate of Achievement – 30 credits at any level (4-7). University Certificate – 60 credits at level 4. University Diploma – 60 credits at level 5. University Advanced Diploma – 60 credits at level 6.
Intermediate Awards: Certificate of Higher Education – 120 credits at level 4. Diploma of Higher Education – 240 credits at level 5. Foundation Degree – 120 credits at level 4 and 120 credits at level 5. Postgraduate Certificate – 60 credits at level 7. Postgraduate Diploma – 120 credits at level 7.
Major Awards: Bachelor's Degree with Honours (BA/BSc) – 360 credits at level 6. Masters (MA/MSc) – 180 credits at level 7.
With Learning through Work you do not have to study towards a full qualification. Many people choose to undertake shorter courses. If you choose to study a short course you still gain credits for the learning and you can use the credit gained at a later date, should you decide to undertake a full programme.
